Decorations
For the buffet tables or side tables that hold the finger foods, cheese etc. you can drape white gauzey cheesecloth over them and sprinkle with plastic spiders or black star confetti. If you want black then try this creepy black cheesecloth complete with holes to drape over tables. If you’re crafty and have the time then you can make a centerpiece for your buffet table. Martha Stewart has a glittered pumpkin center piece that would be nice.
Drape stretchable spider webbing with spiders attached over mirrors and doorways.
For the table settings black Heritage Lace table runners would add some drama to the decor. And what Halloween table would be complete without a black candelabra. You’ll want lacy napkins and these Black and Gold rice paper napkins are perfect.
You can find lots of cheap vintage picture frames that you can paint black. Just hang them around without the pictures in them. Save one smaller one for the Guest Book table. You can back the frame with a piece of plywood and paint it with blackboard paint. Use it to write your Welcome message on it. Better Homes & Gardens has instructions for setting up your old world elegant Guest Book table with instructions on how to make the quill pen as well as the aged guest book.
For flower arrangements, you guessed it, black silk roses. You can even use them to make your own bridal bouquet. It’s really easy! I made mine ( too many years ago) and the roses with baby’s breath looked real. After the wedding I took it apart and had them in a floral arrangement in our hall. I had a LARGE bouquet that draped down from the main bouquet. It was beautiful and very easy to make. Here are a series of videos to help if you want to make your own.
